Team Lightning perform at SW Regional Tournament

9th Sept 2018 - Team Lightning entered the Pre Season South West Regional Tournament in Exeter. It was a fast start to the first game in their pool, versus Bristol side Premier Romans, who's set play had obviously been well rehearsed. Lightning quickly composed themselves and came back hard, pushing Romans out of their comfort zone. Unfortunately, not enough for a win, losing narrowly by one goal. 12-11.

For their 2nd game, Lightning dominated the court from the onset to Taunton side Trident, and thanks to super feeds into the shooting circle and solid defence, they came away to secure a win. 15-9.

Their winning streak was cut short next, when Exeter 'B' rattled Lightning in their third game. Exeter drew on their huge squad and maximised on their quick passes.  A tight game and neck and neck throughout, with another narrow defeat 12-10.

Next was Cornish side Bodmin, a new team to the regional circuit, but not to be taken lightly. Their fiery and ready attitude made it tough initially, but the experience of Lightning, took them through to secure the win 12-4.

In the 2nd round stages, Lightning played the 3rd place teams from each pool. They faced Bristol side Almondsbury, Cornwall Storm & Team Bath.

Three great games, with tight scorelines.

Team bath - Won 10-9

Solid and secure play throughout with only a few errors and missed opportunities. Incredible play, teamwork and positive attitude throughout.

Lightning finished in 11th spot out of 20 teams.
